Man indicted for allegedly threatening Aboriginal journalist Stan Grant online after he announced he was quitting the ABC Q+A last week.
Officers from Sydney Metropolitan Police District Command said they received a report on Tuesday that Grant had allegedly received threats online. Following inquiries, they arrested a 41-year-old man in Fairfield Heights in Sydney’s west about 6.40pm on Wednesday.

The man was taken to Fairfield Police Station, where he was charged with using a transportation service provider to threaten grievous injury and using a transportation service to threaten, harass or offend.
The man was granted bail to appear in Fairfield Local Court on May 31.
Grant, a 59-year-old Wiradjuri man from the Griffith region of New South Wales, is a three-time Walkley Award winner. Wrote an article published on the ABC website on Friday explaining his decision to resign Q+A.

He said the racist insults on social media, especially after he covered King Charles III’s coronation, were exhausting and were the main reason for the TV host’s decision.
“Racism is a crime. Racism is violence. I’ve had enough,” Grant wrote.
on Monday, in his final Q+A appearancean emotional Grant said he needed to take time off and that his soul was hurting.
