Arson Squad detectives are investigating a house fire near Geelong that killed two people early on Monday morning.
Emergency services were called to a Forest Road North property in Lara, about 60 kilometers southwest of Melbourne’s CBD, at 4.45am.

Rescuers arrived at the house within five minutes and found it completely ablaze, according to Fire and Rescue Victoria.
Two bodies were found inside the house after the fire was extinguished.
A Victoria Police spokesman said while the cause of the fire had not been determined, a crime scene had been established at the residence.

Fire investigators and detectives from the Arson Squad are expected to visit the property on Monday.
